Organizing of Cultural shows by the monks of Sera Mey

Drepong Monastery and Sera Monastery, are the three largest
Buddhist Universities in Tibet. The three Monasteries have
been re established In Karnataka by the Tibetan population
in exile. Gaden Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Mundgod and
the Sera Mey and Jey at Bylakuppe, South India

Their significance as a religious, artistic, and cultural
relic led it being preserved by the National Key Cultural
Relic Preservation scheme in 1961, and are now known as
the 'Three Great Monasteries and Universities’.

In the early 15th century, Tsong Khapa called for the Reformation
of Religion, advocating the rooting out the previous disadvantages
in religious orders and initiated the Gelugpa. This sect
also became known as the Yellow Hat sect, as its disciples
were always wearing yellow hats. This order went on to become
the biggest sect in Tibetan Buddhism.
                    Debating of Buddhist Doctrines

The Gelugpa or Yellow Hat Sect of Tibetan Buddhism
studies Buddhist doctrines using a step-by-step process.
As a part of their study, lamas must participate in debates
to further their comprehension and proceed to more advanced
levels of study. The debating traditions in the Sera Monastery
are unique among the three famous monasteries in Lhasa.

Gaden Monastery and Drepung Monastery have already established
themselves abroad by going on tours and organizing various
cultural shows. We at would like to take forward the Monks
of Sera Mey Monastery and organize tours in various parts
                      of the world.

The Monks will perform mask dances, through these mask dances,
teachings of Lord Buddha and other religious values are
presented to people, and evil spirits and misfortunes are
                      warded off.

                      The Cham (black hat dance):
It is a lively masked and costumed dance and is accompanied
by music played by monks using traditional Tibetan instruments.
The dances often offer moral instruction relating to compassion
for sentient beings and are held to bring merit to all who
perceive them. Cham dances are considered a form of meditation,
and an offering to the gods. Performed by the lamas in the
Sera Monastery, these dances demonstrate perfect footwork
                      and grace.

The monks will create sacred Mandalas. The Tibetan mandala
is a tool for gain. Monks will also perform their
                      multi-phonic chanting.

                      Scholarship and Projects:

We provide scholarships to lamas so their daily living expenses
are taken care of and they can devote their energy in study
                      of dharma and artwork.

We also sponsor the trainings of Monks and Nuns and suppot
their projects of spreading Dharma. In collaboration with
the Monasteries in Karnataka we’ve held various exhibitions,
cultural programs, conferences etc. Sera Monastery is one
of the monasteries giving highest degree of doctorate in
Buddhism. Himalayan and especially Tibet has a unique culture
heritage, which incorporates Buddhist spirituality and is
facing the threat of extinction. Our effort is to preserve
Tibet- its environment, its culture and its people and their
                      talent.

We thought of creating a platform where we could bring together
those artists who generally did not find easy access to
                      the mainstream shows.

At the end you all are the one to judge and support this
effort and by doing this you are supporting the young and
emerging artists of this country, and through that you are
sharing the cultural heritage of a great country.

their talent through music, literature, film, photography,

a very respectable image amongst clubbers. They celebrate
Tibet Night and invite the members of the club and show
cultural events followed by dinner. Cultural India Foundation

festival, which takes place in Mumbai every year. The Kala
